Collection: Transits and Survey Compasses

When taking surveys, compass accuracy is paramount.  And the most accurate compass bearings are typically taken from steadiness of a tripod.  When using a dry capsule compass, like a pocket transit or theodolite, a tripod is all but necessary.  Liquid filled capsules, like on the handheld optical sighing compasses, can get by without a tripod.  Each of these compasses are favorites of surveyors.
